Welcome to the Sutton Safeguarding Children Board e-learning Self-Registration System

Welcome to Sutton Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) e-learning site. Safeguarding children is everybody’s business and Sutton LSCB is committed to the continuous learning and development of staff and volunteers working with children, young people and families in Sutton.


The following e-learning modules are currently available:

  • An Introduction to Safeguarding Children (Level 1)
  • Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect – Core (Level 2)
  • Safeguarding Children Refresher

All courses can be requested via the Requested Learning Tab on your learner record, once you have self-registered.


Before beginning any of the training courses please ensure you have had a conversation with your line manager regarding the appropriate level of course for you to complete.


Once you start your online learning course you have 4 weeks to complete it. You will be sent a reminder after 2 weeks.


If you do not complete the course within 4 weeks there will be a charge of £30 for your organisation.

Course Information:


An Introduction to Safeguarding Children (Level 1)

Child Development This training is Level 1 Child Protection training. Level 1 is appropriate for staff and volunteers in infrequent contact with children, young people and/or parents/carers who may become aware of possible abuse or neglect.

Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect - Core (Level 2)

Working With Children And Young People This is level 2 Child Protection training. Level 2 is suitable for those in regular contact or have a period of intense but irregular contact, with children, young people and/or parents/carers including all health clinical staff, who may be in a position to identify concerns about maltreatment. (LEVEL 1 IS NOT A PREREQUISITE FOR LEVEL 2)

The course aims to inform about the various types of abuse and neglect that can happen to a child and then explain what you must do if you suspect a child is being abused or neglected.


Safeguarding Children Refresher

Domestic Violence This is a child protection refresher for staff and volunteers that have completed Level 1 or Level 2 training at least one year ago. Child Protection training should be repeated at least every 3 years.
The course aims to inform about the various types of abuse or neglect that can happen to a child and then explain what you must do if you suspect a child is being abused or neglected.
